What is the Customer Portal?

Gather’s Customer Portal - also known as the Proposal - is the center of coordination for both our venues and their guests. Below are the different elements that are visible to both you and your guest when viewing the Proposal:

Notifications

Whether a payment has been requested or you require a signature on the contract, the alerts will appear at the top of the Proposal page. This makes it clear to your guest that there is action needed on their end!

Branded Page

The portal page will now show a logo (if one is set in your location settings), and will still show the Room images at the top.

Map Directions

On the portal, clicking on the location name below the event name will send users to a google maps spot for the location, helping with directions. This map link is only active if there is a Primary Address set up for the location in settings.

Summary of Charges

The event summary and the list of charges, taxes, and fees will be displayed in an invoice format for your guest. 

Approval Process

The client will be able to electronically sign their name and agree to the event contract and policies outlined in your Settings. 

Venue Contact

We now show your photo, as well as your title, when a guest sends a message. This gives the guest confidence they’re reaching the right person, and helps you build your personal brand!

Mobile-Friendly

Our customer portal is now easy to view and read on phones, tablets, and desktop computers. Many guests use their mobile devices for email, so when you’re requesting a payment or a signature, the client is able to easily approve or pay on their mobile platform!

Updating Location Settings to Display Credit Card Authorization Forms and Event Summaries:

1) Navigate to the Settings tab and select your Location. 

2) Select 'Edit Location' in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, and then navigate to the "Customer Portal" section at the bottom of the page. 

  • Payments + Credit Card Auth Form Display Preferences

If you’re using Gather for payments, or you use your own system, sometimes you don’t want to show the standard Credit Card Auth Form. In your location settings, you can now choose to SHOW or HIDE the link to the Credit Card Auth Form on the customer portal. This allows you to stick with electronic payments (welcome to the future!) or you can send your own preferred document.

  • Print & Sign Option Display Preferences

If you use Gather proposals to Approve your events, you shouldn’t need someone to print and sign the documents the old fashioned way. In your location settings, you can choose to SHOW or HIDE the information for printing and returning, directing your guests to take advantage of the online option.
